Turkey Avocado Lime Wraps

Wrap me up!

I recently went home to Texas where I was surrounded by endless tacos. Now tacos are delicious…but sometimes you need a break from greasy madness on a tortilla. I introduced wraps to my family and they fell in love. Why?

Wraps are probably the best meal prep lunch you can make for your buck! You get a week’s worth of lunches or dinners for less than $25. They can be healthy! Meaty! They fill your belly when you need a quick meal on the go! They are perfect for busybodies, college students, or even for kids needing school lunch. They save you time and money.

When I make wraps I tend to buy the low carb burrito tortillas to be mindful of my daily carb intake. Let’s be real, I have to watch what I eat. I can’t be on carb overload. I like using non-fat Greek yogurt as a substitute for sour cream or mayonnaise. For the turkey, I use Hormel’s Natural Choice Oven Roasted turkey.

The recipe below is simple. You want to be mindful of the amount of filling you put in. Too much filling might make it difficult to fold. Once you learn how to fold a burrito wrap you will be a wrap queen (or king)!

I usually eat my wrap with fruit or a yogurt. You can also enjoy with chips or a side dip.

Turkey Avocado Lime Wraps

  • Prep time: 15 minutes
  • Serving size: 4 wraps

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Deli turkey (12 slices)
  • 1 package provolone cheese
  • 2 avocados
  • 2 limes
  • 1/2 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 4 burrito size tortillas

Instructions:

The first step is to heat up your tortillas in the microwave for 30 seconds. This makes the wrap easy to fold. Next, add a tablespoon of non-fat Greek yogurt to one half of each wrap that you plan to fold through. Slice 1 provolone cheese in half for each wrap and place on top of Greek yogurt spread. Next, add 3 slices of turkey onto the cheese for each wrap, followed by some spinach leaves. You want to slice your avocados before removing them from the black skin. Place 3 slices of avocado on each wrap. Cut up some limes and squeeze the juice onto each wrap before folding.

When you have all your ingredients inside, fold and enjoy your wrap!
